Looking back on these images is sheer proof that I've been surrounded by and becoming an alchemist all along.
Great friends of mine were creatives and one random night, randomly we figured it would be cool to combine all of our talents and have a photo shoot. B. Dunk and Yandus had dreams of being stylists and I loved photography so it was practically a no-brainer. At the time, I carried my digital camera around sock-religiously...(I didn't carry the case but to "protect," or so my high school brain thought, I would slip it down into a thick crew sock likely decorated with a Disney character on it. Nonetheless, we brainstormed who we thought would be a perfect model, started coming up with outfit concepts, and visualized the best set to bring the vision all together.
Ultimately we decided on an old, open field that resembled the part in horror movies when the car conveniently breaks down in the black of night and the middle of nowhere. The weeds had grown well past our knees and there was an old run-down-looking building that we thought was perfectly rustic and vintage.
Needless to say, we created magic with what we had like true alchemists. Just look at what we produced with an impromptu summer photoshoot; our beautiful model stun down in the fits that we found in part from our closets and our favorite thrift stores, creative direction from three alchemists, jewelry (some thrifted, some lifted), hair, makeup, and natural lighting.
I'm forever grateful for experiences like these.
